Unlocking the Trialmaster: The Importance of Victorious Fate in PoE 2
Unlocking the Trialmaster in Path of Exile 2 is a key milestone that grants you access to one of the toughest bosses in the game and unlocks your fourth ascendancy point, significantly enhancing your character build.
How to Unlock the Trialmaster
-
Complete the Trial of Chaos:
The Trialmaster is the final boss encountered at the end of the Trial of Chaos, a challenging 10-round Inscribed Ultimatum. You must complete all 10 rounds of the Trial of Chaos successfully. -
Obtain the Three Fate Fragments:
To enter the Trialmaster’s arena, you need three special items called Fate Fragments:-
Cowardly Fate: Dropped by Uxmal, The Beastlord.
-
Deadly Fate: Dropped by Bahlak, The Sky Seer.
-
Victorious Fate: Dropped by Chetza, The Feathered Plague.
These bosses appear in the 10th round of the Trial of Chaos at random, and each boss drops one of the Fate Fragments after defeat.
-
-
Insert the Fate Fragments:
After collecting all three Fate Fragments, return to the door at the end of the 10th round of the Trial of Chaos and insert the fragments to unlock the gateway to the Trialmaster’s lair. -
Fight The Trialmaster:
Once inside, you face a punishing and complex boss fight requiring high damage output, good positioning, and well-timed dodges. The Trialmaster uses devastating area attacks and constantly alters the arena with dangerous zones, so mobility and awareness are paramount.
The Importance of the Victorious Fate
-
The Victorious Fate is a crucial part of the unlocking process since you need all three Fates to access the Trialmaster.
-
It drops from Chetza, The Feathered Plague, one of the three powerful bosses in the 10th round.
-
Since the boss spawns and drops are random, obtaining the Victorious Fate often means repeating the Trial of Chaos multiple times or trading for the fragment.
-
Without the Victorious Fate, you cannot unlock the Trialmaster, so this fragment can sometimes become a bottleneck or trading commodity among players.
Rewards and Significance
-
Defeating the Trialmaster unlocks your 4th ascendancy point, allowing advanced customization and power boosts.
-
The boss drops unique high-value items such as Glimpse of Chaos, Zerphi’s Genesis, Mahuxotl’s Machination, Hateforge, and The Adorned.
-
Special corrupted Inscribed Ultimatums with modifiers that add challenging mechanics and lucrative rewards may drop after the fight.
To unlock the Trialmaster, you need to complete the 10-round Trial of Chaos and gather three specific Fate Fragments, including the Victorious Fate. The Victorious Fate fragment’s role is indispensable, as it is one of the keys to opening the Trialmaster’s lair. Players often farm these fragments through repeated runs or trading, making the Victorious Fate a sought-after item. Successfully defeating the Trialmaster unlocks your final ascendancy point and grants access to powerful gear and crafting opportunities, marking a significant step in your endgame progression.
